MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to one and all, and we welcome many different nationalities, all of them interested in the various facets of Irish culture.
MIAS have regular events during the course of the year, ranging from an evening with a presentation of the life of Richard Brinsley Sheridan through an evening of Irish ballads to a dramatised play-reading of Beckett’s Endgame.
Needless to say the atmosphere is very convivial.
Membership fee is €20 per annum.

The Irish Flag
The national flag of Ireland (Irish: bratach na hÉireann), frequently referred to in Ireland as ‘the tricolour’ (an trídhathach) and elsewhere as the Irish tricolour, is the national flag and ensign of the Republic of Ireland. The flag itself is a vertical tricolour of green (at the hoist), white and orange.
Daniel O'Connell
Daniel O’Connell is known in
Ireland as “The Liberator” or “The Great Emancipator” for his success in achieving Catholic Emancipation. In 1811, he established the Catholic Board, which campaigned for only Catholic Emancipation, the opportunity for Irish Catholics to become Members of Parliament.
The Easter Rising
The Easter Rising 1916 (Irish: Éirí Amach na Cásca), also known as the Easter Rebellion, was an armed insurrection in Ireland during Easter Week, April 1916. It was the most significant uprising in Ireland since the rebellion of 1798 and the first armed action of the Irish revolutionary period.
